Art and Reading Wishlist

I’m going to start forming a wishlist to make sure I don’t forget anything that strikes my fancy. It’s more for me than you, so shove it. (The only reason I’m in a rush for getting these down is because I’ve recently come across Process Junkie, one of Alberto Ruiz’s blogs, and he’s listed down some of the coolest shit that I don’t want to fall away from memory. Ruiz himself is a wonderful artist, who seems to be one of the few artists who illustrates the way I see. I’m embarrassed, slightly, to say that I’ve yet to find a suitable style for myself, and that my portrayal of the world around me is closer in color than it is in contour. I hope that makes sense. Oh, this side-note’s overtaken the introduction to the list, hasn’t it? I’ll be sure to add more things, soon enough.)

FIRST EDIT: I found a lot more titles in the “comic” listings of Stuart NG Books. You’ll find I like my artists skilled in their portrayal of women. Who could have guessed?

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon
Autobiographix published by Dark Horse Comics
Belle du jour by Bill Presing
Big City by Brandon Ragnar Johnson
There’s no way I can always have five dollars for a Cartoon Retro subscription, and I’m sure it’s a 100% digital transaction, which I’m not too hot to learn how to maintain.
Annual Comic Con books are pretty cool, and Convention Sketches by William Stout can’t get much cooler for a cover-to-cover collection of original art.
Dear John by Alex Toth
Ever Since Adam and Eve edited by Andriola and Casson
the Hunter by Darwyn Cooke
Jungle Queens by Frank Cho
les FEMMES imaginaire by Ben Caldwell
Life Drawing in Character Design: From Concept to Final by Stephen Silver
Modern Masters: Volume 3 featuring Bruce Timm
Odds ‘N’ Ends by Mike Wieringo
OH, WOW! by Adam Hughes
Truer Than True Romance by Jeanne Martinet
The Shame Spiral by Bruce Timm
Sketchbook Cassegrain published by Comix Buro
Sketchbook Vatine published by Comix Buro
Stuff Wot I Drew by Travis Charest
Violence and Piggybacks by Ryan Ottley
Various Drawings by Mark Schultz

If nothing could be more interesting to you than my selfish desires and idol worship of great artists of the trade, do tell me if you have any suggestions for more interesting titles and comic artists.
